Packing. It has become the bane of my existence. I thought I’d be smart and pack months in advance (slow and steady like the tortoise in the race right?) but perhaps bubble wrapping two out 100 souvenirs and rewarding oneself with an instagram news feed refresh and nap was where I went wrong… Also, how on earth did I manage accumulate all this stuff AND fit it in this minute one bedroom studio for three years? It doesn’t matter how many full garbage bags I donate to charity or throw out, I still need more boxes to ship back to Melbourne. o.m.gee it’s about to get crowded down under.
Anyway so you’d think this would teach me to stop buying things unnecessarily right? Wrong. I’m about to leave this shopping Mecca that is London and you know, basically no other city will sell shoes (or clothes for that matter) so stockpile like the shoemakers are going on strike. It’s shoe Armageddon and in the space of 3 weekends, I’ve purchased more shoes than I want to admit… here are a just few (just in case my bf reads this eeek!)
These are the Senso Qimat boots which have been out for a while and I’ve finally been able to get my hands on a pair here in London which works out to be cheaper than from ordering them in Aus even though Senso is an Australian brand! Go the GBP (for now while I’m still working). I bought these in a 36 but truthfully I probably should have gone for the 37. The leather is really soft and I can tell it’s a good quality shoe but I will need to wear in the leather as it’s a little small for me.
No I didn’t buy lopsided shoes, I just forgot to flip up the leather flap on my right foot. Oppsies. I walked into Topshop to stock up on jeans (because yes they don’t sell jeans at all in Melbourne) and came out with a pair of heels. Sigh. But as soon as I put these on, I knew they were a comfy pair that I would wear quite easily with jeans and dresses so I debated bewteen the dark green and black for a good 30 mins before opting for the more sensible boring black route. Secretly I wanted the tan ones but I have a pair from topshop already that are too similar.
I have always wanted a pair of chucks in white for casual wear and now that my Asics tigers are well worn out (off to the charity bin – actually is that wrong to donate to charity if they are semi worn out? Hmmm) I took the plunge. I’m loving the look of the sneakers (mine are white leather as opposed to the usual white fabric ones) but I’m quite surprised that you need to wear these sneakers in … Perhaps I have over-sensitive feet or my feet are PMS-g but who would have thought. Still love them though and quite affordable for £50!
Oh hmm yes and then somehow this happened?! Been wanting to give these Isabel Marant sneakers are trial for a while, even though I wasn’t quite sure if they were my style but the thought of travelling with a comfy pair of sneakers with an in built wedge did appeal to my insecurity about my height and laziness to wear heels so I bit the bullet and tried on this season’s new Bluebell Isabel Marants. They are super comfy as are my dicker boots so the shoes proposed and I said yes. I think I would have preferred the Isabel Marant Blossoms (with the pony hair finish for a sleeker look) but they were much dearer and I was already feeling guilty. I purcahsed mine from Harvey Nichols and since I’ll be leaving the UK I’ll be able to get VAT back too
Anyway I really should get back to the packing .. or maybe I should peruse the Jimmy Choo online website … JK back to packing I go
Have a great weekend guys and thanks for reading
